Sebilj by night

Sebilj comes from Arabic word “Sebil” which means “road” but as a term expression it points to a charitable and very old institution; fountain of particular shape on the squares from which people drank water for free. Fountain Sebilj is the only object of that kind in Sarajevo built in the centre of Bascarsija square in the 1891.

I took this photo last night in the old town part of Sarajevo while walking with my husband. I hoped the city was already decorated but it wasn’t yet. It was nice night for walking. It hasn’t been cold for several days over here. It was much colder in November which normally uses to be in December. It is unusual for us to have New Year without snow so I hope there will be some white snow blanket by that time.

Nice shot Medam. I bet it does look beautiful with SNOW! We may get some this weekend....however it was 74 degrees here yesterday....which is very unusual for December for us.

I like this photo! Yellow light seems to turn any place into something romantic at night.
