Hi my blogging friends! Red currents are edible but this fruit is slightly more sour than other berry fruit. Red currents are mainly used for jams or juices or some other cooked dishes. I love to eat them fresh. Red currents are rich in vitamin C, fruit acids. I've just read on the internet that tea made from dried redcurrant leaves is said to ease the symptoms of gout and rheumatism, be useful in compresses for poorly healing wounds, and as a gargling solution for mouth infections.

Hi Medam! You know my favourite is blue, but your reds are awesome!!

Blogtrotter is showing some sights of the most northern capital city in the world. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Love the progression of the currents, from blossom to yummy goodness. It makes me want some toast and jam right now.

The red currants look so luscious, your photos are a credit to you.
Are you making Jam? When I was young I used to go into the garden in the morning and picked some for a Birchermuesli.Over lunchtime went to the open air swimmingpool(in summer) and ate it there. Red currants team very well with oats etc. When I saw your red currants I just could taste it all again.
Have a very nice week, Meda.

Medam, and I used to eat them all the time. Not very popular fruit here unfortuantely. Thanks for sharing life in action from flower to fruit. Anna :)
