My niece’s wedding

The first day of August (Saturday) was a special day for my niece Lejla. It was her wedding day. That was a special day for me too. I was happy and sad at the same time. I have never experienced such mix of feelings. I was happy because of her happiness but sad because my brother wasn’t there. Many of my blogging friends already know that my brother was killed in the war when Lejla was only 7 years old little girl. She is still a fortunate girl because her stepfather is a man of a big heart who accepted her like his own daughter. He has done everything to make Lejla and her mother happy. He is also a good father to his own daughter Melba who is only a few years younger than Lejla. They two love each other as if they were originally sisters and also they now have their little stepsister Sara who is already 7 years old little girl. Melba lives in Paris with her mother. The war separated many people but also connected many of them in many ways. Such is life!
I have to say that I am not satisfied with photos that I took although I took so many of them. Fortunately there were two professional photographers who will make photo albums and video records for them. I simply didn’t manage to take any photo I had imagined about. It was too hot day and there were so many people and so many emotions. Yet I chose some photos to share with you.
Lejla and her husband Adnan are now spending their Honeymoon in Turkey. I know they are enjoying every moment of their happiness. May they be healthy and happy ever after!

I think your photos are quite beautiful, you captured the simple moments that professional photographers sometimes miss.

All weddings are filled with emotion but the feeling of loss would make it even more bittersweet.

Thanks for sharing such a special day.

Very beautiful couple, Medam, all nice people at the wedding, and your pictures are really excellent. You have photographed so well the salient moments, the feelings, the expressions. The whole sequence of images is so interesting and pleasant. Thanks for sharing with us this great day.

Lejla is radiant as a bride. I'm sorry that you had to be reminded about your brother and the void it has left behind. Meda, your pictures nonetheless depict a very joyous occasion.

One of the most beautiful wedding ceremonies, I liked the ending shot, that is what we all feel at the end of a happy day...

Dear MedaM; It is a wonderful wedding. You did so well with the photos. My favourite is "sad Sara" it is very precious and lovely. Weddings are wonderful because one can also catch up with all the relatives. The bride is very pretty! It just looks like everybody had a marvelous time!
Thank you for your comment on the Angelinas. I am glad that my chooks brought back fond memories. This is really a funny story, I can just see you two peeking into the incubator. I understand that the eggs were very welcome in this terrible time you were caught up. My mother was caught up in 2 world wars being born in 1910, in Austria. She would tell us all the time " stale bread is not hard but no bread is hard!
I did not like Roesti, a swiss Potato dish, peanuts, cocnut, meat etc. She would let me go hungry and sure I ate at the next meal!

Medam very beautiful photos, even if you are not satisfied, don't look at the photo, but look at the people, they all look happy. Sorry about your brother, I remember your story. I am glad that your niece has beautiful family. Wishing her all the happiness she can get. Anna :)
