Old Town

View of the old part of Sarajevo, from the Bistrik settlement. In the middle of the photo it can be seen City City hall building called “Vijećnica”. Later it was National Library. Vijećnica was set fire by phosphor bombs during the siege of Sarajevo in august 1992. It was burnt about 80% of library and documentation that testify on Bosnian history. This old building still hasn’t been reconstructed.

A stunning photo. How much of the city is still in disrepair from the early 90's

How sad to loose so much documented history. I hope someday there will be reconstruction of the beautiful town.
