Horse chestnut

Last Sunday my husband and I took a walk through Vrelo Bosne. It was a lovely and sunny day and I completely enjoyed the fresh air, the beauty of various trees all around and other vegetation, the gurgling water, the beauty of swans, goose, ducks…
I was disappointed when I realised that my camera left at home and that there was no way for me to take any photo.
The only thing I can show you from there are these horse chestnuts which I picked up from the ground while walking there. I like its smooth bark as well as its colour very much.

I've seen a few broken shells around this year but not a lot and no conkers. I expect the schoolkids got to them first.

You eat chestnuts
Here we eat only sweet chestnuts.

It is still a little early to go to collect them, we await a good rain to collect mushrooms

Last year there was everywhere.

Oh no, Bergson, of course we don’t eat horse chestnuts but only sweet chestnuts. I picked up these ones only because they remind me to my childhood when we children liked to play with them making some things of various shapes (dogs, cats, mice or some other shapes). By the way I was told that where there are horse chestnuts there are no moth holes. I can tell you it is really true.

So do you keep horse chestnuts with your woolens? They wouldn't smell like mothballs then. They are so pretty. And don't you just hate when you forget your camera.

Hi Ruth! Thank you for drop by. Yes, I keep horse chestnuts in my wardrobe among our clothing whether it is woollens or not and there is no any smell at all and there is no any damage. :-)
And yes, I do hate when I forget my camera!
